Cherry, used as an adjective to describe the redness of the mint luster on a copper coin.
For example, a PCGS MS-65 Red (RD) lincoln has full, original mint lusted that has no toning. A MS-65 Red/Brown (RB) is mostly red with some toning on it. A MS-65 Brown (BN) lincoln is all or mostly (95% ish) brown with some luster underneath.

In the general progression of toning for copper coins, they start as red, then go to red brown and finally brown. Red typically describes a mint state coin while cherry describes a coin where the brown and red is mixed, leading to a dark red appearance on the way to brown if it continues to tone.
