i was given a 2004 d dime that has a raised rim and a smoothedge and its the same size as a regular dime but the rim appears wider than the normal dime size any suggestions if its an error coin

Looks like a dime that spent some time in a dryer.

A Dryer Coin would have blurred devices, which this doesn't seem to have. However, the pics are too small to tell for sure. I suspect it was spooned- hit repeatedly around the edge with a spoon or light hammer.
