Has anyone found State Quarter PROOFS from roll searching? I have found occasional proofs from the 70s and 80s and found a 76 S silver clad one time.

Mycrob, I personally don't search through quarters, but keep an eye out for State Quarter die rotation errors. Also, any State Quarter in AU-50 or better is worth more than face value. Hope this helps. Sincerely, ~Logan Thomas~

Found a Massachusetts-D with a highly reflective reverse. It's practically a wannabe proof with a slight cameo effect. Denver State Quarters are always reflective, but this is the best I've found and if it wasn't circulated, I'd send it in for grading.

I buy a roll of quaters once a week from the bank for my laundry. I always quickly browse through it to see if there is anything interesting. A few months ago a teller gave me a roll of quaters that looked like it had been rolled for quite some time. Not thinking anything of it, I opened the roll to wash my clothes. Immediatley I knew there was silver in it. About 3 dollars face value. Dates ranging from 37 to 64. I couldn't belive it. I wasn't able to go back till the very next day almost near the time they closed. I asked for all the quarters they had that weren't factory rolled. Which was only 30 dollars worth. One of the rolls they gave was rolled with the same old paper they had given me the previous day. It only had a lot of quarters dated around the 70's. So no luck on those other rolls. Still, I was very exited.

never roll searched quarters, but I once went to a bank to get some halves to search and the teller told me she had 5 1964 quarters that I could have.

I seem to get a lot of 1965 quarters in change around here.
Also, regarding mint marks and the area in which we reside, I see almost exclusively "D" mint coins here! It gets aggravating after a while. I roll hunt mostly LHCs and I would bet 80% of them are Denver mint, 15% Philly and the rest SF.

Years of roll searching and nada one silver quarter. Very nice finds in every other denomination, but no luck with quarters. I have put many 64 to present sets together out of circulation and hoard 82 and 83's, but no silver... boo. But I still love the thrill of the hunt! 32D is out there waiting for me to find it! lol

I haven't found a silver quarter in many years, but I've never tried searching rolls either. I, too get many 1965's, and 66, and 67s here in Texas. Mostly D's too. Anytime I get an uncirculated roll of new coins they're always D-mints. Several Bicentennials also, which I have always kept. I have only one mint set, and it's a 1981. What was it that was possibly special about these?

There was a Type 1 and a Type 2 for the 81 quarter mint proof set. Or is yours the mint set?
