1956-P Jefferson nickel QDR FS-801

What a great day to share this awesome find

Any comments, suggestions or feedback welcome...

I just also gave one away another one of the same variety in an contest today.

I found them both searching a solid date roll made from proof sets or mint cello not sure.

1956-P WDDR-001 is a "Best Of" Nickel Doubled Die Varieties and also FS-801 in the Cherry Pickers Guide.

This 1956-P Jefferson nickel has a very nicely quadrupled die with all four images showing very well on E PLURIBUS UNUM, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, FIVE CENTS, MO...LO of MONTI-CELLO and both sides of the building.

a QDR is a Quadrupled Die Reverse which is the design hubbed 4 times

WOW!

What an excellent example of a tough variety!

With excellent images that are undeniable!

You say you gave one exactly like this away today?!

By chance...was I the winner of this awe inspiring variety nickel?!?!

No? Had to try!

Most of the time the tripled dies are hard to see the doubling. But you coin is a great example. I did find a Quad on an Indian cent that Rick Snow posted. I love it when they are so easy to see:

Watch for the spread on the thin/thick devices.

If you want to see some extraordinary hub tripling, check out this thread I revived from 2014, adding to the pertinent information already posted with an example I just discovered on an UNC Baseball HOF Silver dollar I recently had slabbed by PCGS that clearly shows evidence of at least a tripled die reverse.

There are lots of pics to look at and I would like y'alls input and thoughts on this unknown modern commemorative silver dollar variety!! It is very interesting to say the least!
