Seller on ebay has Kennedy half dollar 1972 without the FG. Asking $395.00 BIN. So I pickup 25 rolls of half dollars today and found a 1974 with no visible FG. Any value? Webekin

to CCF. It is caused by either a Grease Filled Die or an over abraded die. Not much if any premium. Also, there has to be absolutely no sign of the F or the G to even keep,IMHO.

The letters were not added on the reverse design. they are all part of the design. So as John1 mention they might be filled in with grease, or just polished away. They were not forgotten. Some collect these, but they are not a die error. More like a die event. 1. The devices were polished away or 2. The die had a bit of grease in that area. But as John mentioned: Any sign of the letters remove this from being collectable to those who collect these.
