I am thinking of adding some modern silver to my collection. I am considering Washington quarters and Franklins halves. I like varieties so am looking for a comprehensive reference.

The only Washington reference I have found is the Whitman book:http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/pro...uarters.html
Is this book the go-to book or is there another better reference?

For Franklins I am considering the Flynn & Wexler book:http://www.amazon.com/Treasure-Hunt...Half+Dollars
What do you think?

I know there is a Whitman Guide Book for Franklin and Kennedy half dollars http://www.amazon.com/Guide-Book-Fr...half+dollars

I don't own this book so I can't say how useful it will be however there is the take a peek feature in the Amazon link above that might shed some light and see if it is worth picking up for you personally.
