coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 04/21/2016 5:08 pm Probably not die attrition as it makes a total curve when this shows the damage on the die from being set MAD wear the edge of the die. Is the reverse damaged in that area? It may have been squeezed on that area on the reverse? If not then it would be a huge die gouge. Report this Post to the Staff

Another die may have been dropped on the die face making an incuse mark on the die that struck this coin. (leaving a raised area on the coins struck probably till it was retired.
