Are those chopmarks or some kind of strikethrough?

Irrelevant side-note: I think we would call this a peso, and reserve the term "libertad" for the later bullion coins.

There were several countries who had circulating " Trade dollars" and I would suspect that mexico was not exception.

Mexico did in fact send 8 Reales and Pesos to East Asia into the early 20th century. So, yeah, this coin probably circulated as a Trade dollar in Asia in the early 20th century.
