Anyone got a 1946 S Sans Serif dime? Photos to share? Know if this coin is a regular production, pattern, or some type of experimental coin? Currently claimed to be only 2 known. Have ya got one . seen one, or know what it's value may be? Is it known paired with the 1st or 2nd type 1946 obv.?

CherryPickers Guide 4th Ed. Volume 2 has it listed as FS-10-1946S-504.
Thanx....Gusp

Sorry Gusp. The coin I have is the 1947-S where the mint mark was designed for a foreign coin but mistakenly used on this one run of dimes. I don't have the 1946-S sans serif one.

Ah! Thanks!

quote:
The Trumpet Tail and Ball Serif mintmark styles have been known on the 1946-S dimes for years, but the Sans Serif mintmark style was thought to have been first placed on the dime in 1947. A couple of years ago Gene Bruder reported an XF specimen and not long afterward a VF specimen surfaced. Until now nothing else had been reported.

Ah! So we are talking about the same thing.
