Looks like MD to me. See how the devices are reduced? Maybe even a partially filled die, but I'm pretty sure it's not a DD.

Thanks CM, I am sure you are correct. Thought it was worth asking about though since I still haven't gotten the "eye" for telling the difference.

Nice pickup on your LC DDR. I am glad the Seal is back and settled into his new home. I was so happily surprised to see his post. Haven't seen a post from OcalaFlorida in a long while - I hope he is Okay.

That's an old post I'm hoping to get some help with. Yes I wonder about O-F too. He's a good guy.
You understand about reduced devices?

Yes (somewhat), so I can see that on the 5 actually, but on the 00's the doubling on the 0's seems to made them fatter - don't they?

I have been checking the website for the Ocala coin club as well - that he is a member of. There were no notes on members being ill (they say they post those things). I do hope he is Okay.

No. When in doubt about normal size, you can usually compare it to another coin of the same year and mint. MD adds false doubling that is robbed from the device. Doubled Dies is doubling added to the full device.

So on the DDO's for me - I have been doing much better on identifying the DDR's. All in good time I guess.

Yes, it takes a while, you'll see enough coins and it will click.

I always watch for distortion of the normal shape of the dates and LIBERTY areas in order for me to get excited about the DDO's:

2012:
2005-P--LC---Possible-DDO-On-Date-But-No-Listings

When I see the distortion from a normal date or LIBERTY, then I get excited.
