Please elaborate on how this came to look this way please. Is it an error? Is it a zinc wearing off issue? The back is identical where half is bronze and the other half is silver looking.

Abrasion has stripped away all the copper and the light area is the zinc underneath

PMD. Someone most likely sanded the coin down, that is why you see the zinc layer exposed.

Whether or not it was done intentionally, it got worn down some time after it left the mint.
