Over time interest seemed to wain for these with less entries and enthusiasm, and difficulty thinking of new and interesting themes. I do think that even though we don't want hundreds of stickies this should be a contender though. It is nice to look back through these themed smack downs... even if its not this thread it would be good to have a sticky with lists of links to all these, like the ones to individual women of Rome, or even men of Rome if someone wants to compile such a thing (links to threads featuring the individual Roman rulers) Its certainly a substantial body of contribution that merits repeat attention in my opinion. Although I fear my contributions in a large part of these themes would be minimal, they sure form a great excuse for everyone to show off their best coins. In my opinion, we might even need to add an early Chinese smackdown ;). Is there anyone who has the time and is willing to take on the responsibility to revive this concept? If not, I might consider putting my name forward (if you are okay with a relative newbie to the forum running it). It'll be a while until I have the time though (early June).
