Hello I am a new member trying to get help with some knowledge on a penny I found the other day and I know something is wrong with it but I don't know what and I was wondering if someone could help me. it looks like they're silver underneath the back of a penny but the front looks like a regular penny. I took theses pucs under a jeweler eye piece with cell phone camera I took several for the lightning effects on the front the point is dirty and does need a cleaning. any help would be appreciated thank you

The copper plating has been worn off, exposing the Zinc underneath. It is called PMD and is worth only a penny.

It's possible someone tried to make a zinc penny battery out of it. I mean the obverse is completely undamaged, but the reverse is sanded down.
