I recently purchased this nicely toned 1923 Mercury.

Sorry that the pictures aren't the best, but I've taken dozens trying to get shots that truly capture the luster and toning. These were taken in natural sunlight.

The final two photos better show some large die cracks at the 6:00 and 12:00 positions on the obverse and also at 12:00 on the reverse. There is some dust on the coin on the obverse photo that better shows the die cracks. The spots are not marks on the coin.

I have posted about this coin in the Classic US coins Variety and Error section as well pointing out the die cracks.

It's a very nice coin with Full Split Bands and opinions on the grade are most welcome.

Still learning the nuances of grading Mercury dimes, but based on my limited experience looks to be MS 64 - 65 FB.
Very nice find.

MS63 and borderline FSB, the central band is awfully weak but looks like it just barely makes the FSB cut.

Thanks for all the responses. I've labeled it as an MS-63 FSB and happily placed it in my collection.

63FSB. Not very flattering pics, I think.

NO. The photos are less than ideal. Sometimes I can take very nice photos of brilliant silver and others times it's an exercise in frustration.

No criticism taken. I just accidentally hit the caps on the word "No".

I'm going to keep trying to get some decent photos of this on and another nice 1934-D I bought recently.

Your reverse pics highlight the bands especially well, but overall the surfaces are not well-lit on either side.

Wow, the obverse die cracks are incredible! I like it! I'm at MS63 FSB as well but that could change with improved images.
