Flying Eagle for grade and thoughts. The blue spot at 9 o'clock on the reverse was just lint. How bad does the rim damage affect it? coin looks better in hand has more luster than pictures. possible there is evidence of an old cleaning Edited by Steele 11/14/2016 6:47 pm

It could be at least a AU coin.
Not sure what to think about the color.

Granted the color it's probably corroded, perhaps a metal detector find in acidic soil. I'm no expert I'd say AU details Env damage.

Gun blueing is my guess. An easy way to put a solid dark blue color on almost any metal.

Agree sharpness of AU-58 but apparent environmental or chemical damage. Shame.

The pictures make the coin look much bluer than it is. the back ground color should be almost an orange I will upload a picture with corrected color later. there is no blue tint to the coin at all.

Solid AU55 but unfortunately the rim bruise will details it (at least at PCGS and NGC) and the obverse scratch doesn't help its cause any. Still a really nice coin.
