Weirdly Toned Modern Pennies - Coin Community Forum

OldCoinCollections New Member United States 13 Posts	Posted 01/16/2017 6:21 pm They are toned blueish gray, the front of 3 of the coins are BU but one of them is also toned in the front. Crazyb0 Rest in Peace 10197 Posts	Posted 01/16/2017 7:05 pm Any miniscule break in in the thin copper outer layer caused in minting process, exposes the inner zinc to the air and moisture...causing " zinc rot", deterioration. That's why the "Zincolns" as I read a few days ago, won't last as long as copper brothers. Beat me to it Mocking, slow typing on this tablet!
