They are toned blueish gray, the front of 3 of the coins are BU but one of them is also toned in the front. Any ideas why they would turn this color and if it adds value at all?

Any miniscule break in in the thin copper outer layer caused in minting process, exposes the inner zinc to the air and moisture...causing " zinc rot", deterioration. That's why the "Zincolns" as I read a few days ago, won't last as long as copper brothers.
