Pokermike4283 Valued Member United States 85 Posts	Posted 04/01/2008 11:53 pm NOTE: I don't yet have my scanner going so I will describe this coin as best as possible. ----- (Front) "Republique" on left hand side, "Francaise" on right hand side...(Back) "1 Franc" in middle, "1961" on bottom middle, "Liberte" "Egalite" "Fraternite" starting from left of date going clockwise. ----- What is this coin, what does it say, and is it worth anything, not that I think it is. In other words, France, 1 Franc, 1961 in XF = 0.20 (by the Krause Catalogue) Report this Post to the Staff

To give some indication of the relative values at the time, the silver 5 francs coin from the 1960's contained just a little less silver than a US half dollar, so a franc should have been about equivalent to a dime.
