Wanted to share a piece I picked up a few weeks ago.

Quick back story... I went into my local shop a few months back and he said there was something he wanted to show me, being a commemorative collector.

He came out with this box, filled with the original 20 coins, ordered back in 1938 by a woman in Danville, VA. Brought into the store by her son, as he was unloading her estate after her passing.

I live in Virginia and being a VA commem, bought originally from Stack's by a Virginia native, I really liked it.

Anyway, I told him I would like to buy the box and receipt, but he said he wanted to hang onto it until the coins came back from PCGS, but if I bought a coin he'd throw in the box and receipt.

Anyway, they came back and I chose this coin out of the bunch and got a great price on the coin, then the box and receipt thrown in.

Hope you like it!

Now that is a Very Interesting find. I wonder what the dealer thought when this came in? And how many more finds from other commemoratives are out there. And it took at total of 25 cents to get it there. That sure wouldn't happen now.

Those are the kinds of dealers that really make collecting fun. Did you get a chance to see all 20 after they were slabbled? T

I know that there are BU rolls of BTW and GWC out there but are there BU rolls of other issues that people are aware of. I'm sure that the Lynchburg roll was a surprise to the dealer when it was brought in.

I no longer had access to my old email so I couldn't change my password which I had forgotten. I contacted CCF to ask that they change my email address for me but never received a reply, so I registered again.

Anyways, It has been a while since anyone has added to this post. Hopeful that more commemoratives and related material will be shared. Here is my Booker T. Washington commems and ephemera.
