I know some of us collect world bullion and wanted to make a post about this swan. If I understand correctly APMEX is the exclusive distributor and this is the first coin in a new swan series. Mintage is 25,000 and today is the first day of sales. And yes, I know there are a LOT of new series out there to choose from. I think it is great looking coin. At such a low mintage, the first in the series, and from a mint that is highly respected for their bullion offerings, this seems like it will sell out quickly. The premium is a bit high, but I think it will be worth more than that once it is sold out.

Thanks Debrajc,
I was not aware of this. I already purchased two. I may want more...
With such a low mintage, I am sure it will do well!

DAng, I saw this on their site just last night before Debra put this thread up.. and poof its gone. Gotta say I was so tempted but I thought, "there should be plenty around" lol
Guess 25K is the sweet spot now, not 50K mintage. I am taking note of that going forward.
very nice coin. I suspect they will do a proof version next lol

I knew I should have bought 4 instead of 2...I figured I could go back anytime. Dang it. I do feel lucky for my two.
Thanks again Debrajc for the tip!!

I wonder if it will be similar to the Australian Silver Wedge Tailed Eagle series the same mint started in 2014. The first year was a limit of 50k, then the following years have no mintage limit. I wonder if subsequent Swans will be unlimited. That design on the 2014 & 2015 Wedge was incredible. That was 50k mintage and you cannot find one less than $40 bucks now. At least I can't.

Glad you were able to get a couple crazyglue. Yes, they sold out very fast and they raised the price over $5.00 yesterday. When I first saw them they were $24.50 but by the time I got home from work and sat down at my computer to order they were almost $30.00.

I got 12 at a little over 27.00. Definetly stung, but it was money I'd set aside for the silver krugs, which went for more than double that & was just too much of a gouge for me to go for. The swans are already selling for up to 57.00 on ebay. We shall see.

I am a little surprised at the premium increase in so little time. To go from $25 to $50-60 in 24 hours... I am still kicking myself for only buying two while they were below thirty dollars. I considered a full roll and then changed my mind. I mean-- there are 25,000 of these things. That is not exactly "rare" by world bullion standards. There are other popular series with much lower mintage that do not more than double their price in 24 hours. Kicking myself, I say. I am also still kicking myself for not buying the S Proof Congratulations ASE. I don't even collect ASE (except for the regular bullion variety, of course), but should have been smart enough to realize a mintage of 75k on proof ASE would have been an investment move, not a collecting move. I guess I have to pay a little more attention to what is going on in the market. On the plus side-- I have to say that I am very happy that the world bullion market seems to becoming more accepted as legitimate coin collecting and not just stacking or some step-child of collecting. Or at least it feels like it is becoming more accepted.
