Acid Dating Standing Liberty Quarters

Benja Valued Member United States 186 Posts	Posted 08/01/2017 3:27 pm There is a such thing as acid dating Buffalo nickels, and it is pretty fun and cool to see what date you can get out of them. 1917-1924 Standing Liberty quarters have a high chance of having no date, so I was wondering if there is a way to acid treat the date. I do know it is possible because I have seen listings of coins on ebay that have been acid treated. All of the key dates have the type of date that wears easily, so you could probably find some key dates if you looked hard enough. So, is there a way to get the date from dateless Standing Liberty quarters, and is it worth it? Thanks Report this Post to the Staff

But if you're looking for the 1916, there are simpler ways - the die markers for this year, even on a slick, are clear without damaging the coin. Report this Post to the Staff
