Poll Question
Let's pretend that in a world of classic proofs all proofs from all the series are equal. Let's say that it's 35% cameo and 65% non cameo. The difference between each coin would be 1 point. Both coins are equality in eye appeal(in the sense of # of scratches, toning, etc), condition, etc. Price is not a factor.

Would you take a lower grade cameo or a higher grade non cameo?

Poll Choices
 Lower Cam
 Higher Non Cam

Rest in Peace

I would take 1 point less in a PR grade any day for a nice cameo. Eye appeal triples IMO with a cameo, and you barely notice a difference in grade on the high end. :-)

I must agree, there's just something about the cameo look. But it would depend a little bit if I needed the cameo or the non cameo more to complete a collection I think.

im not very into proofs; I just get them for reasons I dont understand, so I wouldnt want to blow too much on a proof when I can use the same money for a circulation strike

Definitely Hi grade non cameo because,if it were a coin that was not very old,(and you could buy easily buy it and not really care) at first glance (with out doing all this studying to make sure it's not a ripoff) people say "oh! look at that one that isn't very shiny but doesn't have a crack in it!". Not " oh! look at that one that's really shiny,or at least it's shiny where you can see it around all those cracks".

If the cam is only one point lower grade, yet they are only a third of the population, then the cam is the way to go.
