Does anyone know about the scarcity (or not) of a 1968S Proof quarter with Reverse A (E & S in STATES are touching). I really don't care much about clad quarters, but I happen to have a 1968 proof set with this A reverse.

TIA

Is there any chance of some pictures. There is sometimes confusion on the 1968 S proof quarter. There is a variety called "Type C" that is, in appearance like a bolder "Type A".

Others might know of a "Type A" on 1968 Proof Quarters but I am not aware of it. What is known and is scarce is a "Type C" 1968 S proof. You may have one of them...

Pictures would help.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill, Thanks for the info. The Type C reverse on a 1968S proof quarter is the scarce one. I have a few 1964D Rev C pieces so I know what they look like. There are lines splitting the tailfeathers. Thanks again... I'll have to look for the Rev C on the proof quarters in 1968 proof sets. Regards, Harvey

Hi Bill, I just got back from the local coin show and I had a look at 1968 proof sets. The set I had at home was not a Rev C but ALL 7 that I saw at the show were Rev C. I bought 2 of them. Perhaps they are not as rare as first thought. I'll post pics later. Regards, Harvey
