Looks like a large date copper cent to me. The weight confirms it.

Yes. The zinc is the 2.5 Gram coin.

Large date.

Weight will help you determine copper or zinc. 3.11 grams copper. 2.5 grams zinc.

Both of them are Large Dates, which it's normal for that year. You want to look for the 1982 D LMC Small Date Cent that weights 3.1 grams, not the Large Date.
