I found a few wheat pennies badly coroded though. Then I found this other thing? It says Patented march 3 74 and GW.Hoodwich.

Not sure what it is... My guess is that it's a hinge of some sort for a box. The circular hole would mount to the box and then a sliding peg would go in the oval for when the lid is opened... I'm sure I'm wrong...

Its a key for opening a sardine can. the can has a small tab of metal on it. you slide the tab into the slot then turn the key and roll the lid back like a burrito...
