It was a long hot hike in Arches National Park for this view.

(I am pretty sure I took the shorter hike )

Just to clarify. You're asking for a picture of a coin, plus a picture (preferably you took the picture), of the place you visited? Correct?

Yes. Post a picture you took at the place you visited (if possible) as well as the coin. Apologies for not being clearer.

I visited the Lincoln Memorial when I was just a kid, but don't have a picture. My father may have taken some home movies, but I don't have access to them at this time.

I've been to a few of the National Parks, the Grand Canyon, the Great Sand Dunes National Monument, Big Bend National Park (no coin of that place though), and the Padre Island National Seashore (no coin showing that place either).

(Not my car, btw, it just happened to drive by when the camera on the tripod snapped the timed picture).

It was difficult hiking up the dunes. Loose sand is not easy to hike on! But I did make it up to the top of the dunes, about a 700' climb. The picture was taken about 28 years ago.

I wonder if any member has been to Stonehenge. There's a coin with Stonehenge on it. Anyone have that one? I would love to visit Stonehenge.

Yep, 1986 while in the U.K. for a friend's wedding at Oxford. I'm sure there are photos, but I don;t know where.
And we have UK members who have probably been there.

Visited Carnac last summer. Impressive in a different way. (And I doubt there is a coin).

The Western Wall in Jerusalem. In Hebrew it is called the Kotel Ha'maaravi (or simply the Kotel)
Visited there several times. Don't have any pictures.

Very good. Now your challenge is to acquire a coin with Stonehenge on it!

I could post 39 State Quarters but I won't. I have not been to Alaska, Colorado, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Rhode Island or Utah. ( yet )

I've driven tractor trailer across Long Island NY quite a few times. Glad I'll never see that Long Island Express ever again!

That would be a lot of work! But you could perhaps post your best picture you took of one of your favorite places shown on a coin. That's kind of the idea.

That's a cool 1936 half dollar, btw. Is that your coin or a stock photo?

Yes that's my actual Long Island coin.
I would say that Yellowstone National Park really amazed me as a teenager in the early 70's. At that time it was the most impressive place I had seen. So I will show this one.

But I don't remember seeing a single Bison while I was there.

Another place I was on a grade school field trip was Mt Vernon where George Washington lived and took the tour. I was amazed to be there where George Washington slept.

Not sure but I'm thinking back in the 70's the herds were just about killed off. Only in recent years (10/20) the herds have been protected and have come back.

Pretty common to see them in Yellowstone since 2000. Even moreso on the flats in Grand Teton park.
