Also, I just noticed, after looking at many, many coins, that there are two sets of initials on the obverse of this nickel. Is this unique to this series? JNF= designed by Jamie Franki DW= engraved by Donna Weaver The original Jefferson was designed and engraved by Felix Schlag and most other new designs are created by one artist or at least one artist per side. Traditionally, the whole coin was designed and engraved by one individual but of course that was in the days when the position of Chief Engraver of the Mint existed as well. The Artistic Infusion program has helped to diversify the talent level of the Mint. Report this Post to the Staff
