The "L" looks like an over abraide die and or a Grease Filled Die. The "E and B" look like damage from a hit during circulation. No OMM's since the 1950's or 1960's. John1  |

But the "E" is really taller than the others, Both of the "E" & "B" seems not like a circulaton hit, they seems like a mechanical hit error

The pictures are a bit blurry up close, but might the mintmark have a little die chip or something else going on inside?

I have seen the "L" is extremely light hit and wide space separate from the other letters.

Thank you for your response! Coop, I'm also agree with Jonh1's opinion about the "E", but in my opinion I think the "L" is not a Grease Filled Die,it looks more like a uneven struck on a planchet, so lead to the almost missing "L", slimmed letter of "IN GOD WE TRUST", and incomplete "O" of the word "GOD". |

This was caused by an over polished die. They were trying to get rid of a Die Clash. That's why the devices are very thin in size. Please look at my similar post about a LMC with an over polished die. http://goccf.com/t/317325Errers and Varietys.

Thank you for your opinion. I looked at the website you suggest, on the observe all letters and Lincoln's neck of your post are distinct visible and complete, so in my opinion I think that these two post(yours and mine) are the same type(over polished die) but different variety.  |

chgk1328, that's a nice example you have, I hope you keep that one! Do you get many of the old copper cents in your area? I did some work for Ocean Park HK years ago.
