These are the seller's photos It's graded as MS63 by PCGS, but the surfaces just look a little off to me. Are they just poor seller photos? or maybe it's been dipped, but not enough to get a details cleaned grade? or is it ok and I'm just seeing things? What do you think? I think they may be scanned images going by the light direction.

Quote: I think they may be scanned images Also looks like the coin may have been in contact with PVC at some point. I wonder how old the slab is?

Quote: I wonder how old the slab is? The coin is in a PCGS Gen 4.0 slab. They were used in the 1998-2002 timeframe, so the slab is 16-20 years old.

Technically, it looks 63 or even better to me.

First thing I'd do is check the PCGS number to make sure it is a genuine holder. If it checks out, looks like it may be a nice coin for you. Looks MS-64 in these scans but a better photo with lighting at a different angle may show things we don't see here.

Thanks for the input folks The coin was listed on ebay and the seller has a no questions asked return policy. He'd just dropped his BIN price by nearly 1/3, so I decided to go ahead and take a chance on it. I'll see what it looks like in hand and decide whether or not to keep it. As an FYI, I was not able to purchase the coin through PayPal with my linked credit card, or directly through ebay with that card either. It's a Citi Double Cash card, so usually I get 2% cash back on the purchases, but not this time (had to use a measly 1.5% cash back card instead ). It turns out that Citi is blocking all purchases that they think are crypto currency. I remember someone else reporting this in another forum as well, but I'm fairly sure I've made ebay coin purchases since seeing that post (don't remember what forum it was in, maybe precious metals?). IMHO that's a reasonable thing to do, what with the crypto market being so volatile. The only problem is that they can't accurately determine when a purchase is in fact for a crypto currency So, some genius executive at Citi has decided that if the vendor's name includes the word "coin" in it that the purchase is for bitcoin and the transaction is denied. At least that's what I was told after a half hour talking with Citi's customer service rep and supervisor. Of course the Citi folks said it wasn't their problem, it's just their "evolving" policy Just a "heads up" for anyone out there who may get purchase denied when trying to buy coins with a Citi credit card

Received the coin today and took a stab at taking some quick photos to compare to the seller's. Here's the obverse and the reverse Although my photos aren't TrueView worthy by any means, I think they show quite a difference from the seller's pics The coin looks fine in hand and is definitely a keeper

Your pics certainly do show the difference in the way a coin is scanned/photographed vs the how it really might look. That being said, you have a great coin there! Definitely a keeper.
