Just got this steel cent and I would love to get a rough estimation on the grade, I personally think this is in the high ms category.

This appears to have been re-plated, so it cannot technically be graded.

Replated steel cents are considered damaged/altered coins and will not be graded. These coins are first chemically stripped and cleaned, then replated with a nickel/zinc or even chromium at times to be so shiny.

What was a possible XA/AU coin is now worth nothing more than face value...altho being steel won't make it through most coin counters anymore!

Ungradeable due to it being plated.

Strange, seems to have luster in person. But thank you.

Shiny does not equal luster. What we mean is cartwheel luster.

Original uncirculated cents from 1943 have a soft, whitish sheen quite unlike the chrome-like appearance of re-plated examples like yours. Once you have seen the real thing you'll immediately understand the difference.
Rest in Peace

Welcome to the Community!

Original uncirculated steel cents have a frosted matte silver finish.

Reprocessed / replated steel cents will have a more mirror-like finish with hints of blue or pink. They will not be "frosty".
