Good evening!

I have an unusual 1976-D Bicentennial Quarter. It has an indented ring that is exactly the circumference of a Jefferson nickel. I cannot figure out if this is a mint error or if it is post-minting damage. It can be seen that this ring has resulted in a wide spread of the I and a clipping of the T in "In God We Trust".

Any info would be much appreciated. :D

The damage is quite minimal, but it is most likely caused by a rolling/crimping machine.

I looked up images of crimping damage, and that is exactly what it looks like. Thanks!
