I thought that would be a good idea also to take to coin shows and coin dealers. This way you could compare what you have with what is at the coin show, etc.

Unfortunately, I think the resolution on those is very low and would only be useful if you wanted to highlight a small part of a coin.

Or, as you say to show some of your coins to co-workers, etc. where exact detail isn't that important.
