I am thinking about purchasing Coin World Coin holders to put my coins in. They are about the same size as NGC Slabs. Has anybody had any experiences with these holders. CC

That's what I do. It's probably cheaper than plastic holders too. I think I pay .04 cents a 2x2 and $2 for 3 mylar pages

I would personally go with 2x2's. At 2 cents each you can't beat the price. Even if you went with the saf-self stick holders the cost would only rocket up to 8-9 cents each. Do these CW holders have an area where you can write in information? Is this a piece of paper that gets inserted into the holder or just stuck on the outside? Think of the bulk also. Is this just for your collection or are you going to do shows? How many can you display versus 2x2's? Expensive coins or common. Just some considerations Kopper Ken

And buy em in bulk on ebay and you can get em for real cheap. I normally buy about 100-200 at a time of each of the 5 different size coin holders.

What's a good suggestion for archival notebooks to hold the slide pages?

When you guys reference ""2 x 2s," are you referring to the cardboard ones or the mylar saf-flips?
I use the latter.

as far as the Coin World slabs I have a few of them, there was a guy that put his coins in CW holders and called his grading company CCGS (his grading wasn't as bad as others are on ebay, he was actually right on with the coins I purchased from him in his CCGS holders). They work as good as any other holder as far as I can tell and they fit in the PCGS blue boxes where allot of the others do not

Methinks I might be paying too much for my 2x2s. What sellers have you used for this? quote: What's a good suggestion for archival notebooks to hold the slide pages?
Just the basic ones you can get anywhere. My paper money is in a 1" my coins are currently in a 3". Only recommendation I have is just to make sure your binder is a half ring binder (most new ones are this way). My 3" was free but has full rings and the pages tend to get stuck. quote: When you guys reference ""2 x 2s," are you referring to the cardboard ones or the mylar saf-flips?
I'm talking cardboard.

I use Whitman Classic Albums mostly. I also have many 2x2's in those about foot long red boxes. What I've found out some time ago is if you go to coin shows frequently, you'll get to know dealers. Many of them buy entire Albums of coins, place each coin in a 1-1/2x1-1/2 inch flip. Some use 2x2's. Now they have a pile of those Albums. Several dealers just give me some free. One dealer at a coin show recently gave me about 40 of them and free. I would have taken more but very heavy so just took one big box. He said he will bring even more at the next show. Now have over 100 of the Whitman Albums. Some were other brands like Dansco, Littleton, etc but I gave those away myself.

Graceoutcast,
I probably have close to 5000 coins. Small collection but I just started collecting this summer.
The main reason I posted this tread is because I am exploring different ways to house my coins. What ever way I choose 2x2 or some other way I want to use it with all my coins.
It will make storage alot easier and more consistent.

Just Carl, Seemed like you got some really good relationship with the dealers.... when you get enough of those extra Album, may be you can put them up here for other members.... I'll pay you shipping cost.... I got my 2x2 mylar flip at Long Beach coin show (100 for $5) they have one pouch for the coin and the other for the label paper. The coin dealer near my place selling the mylar flip and cardboard flip for the same price 5-cents a piece. I have the same question that Arthrene is having: Where did you find sellers that offer such a good price (2 or 3 cents a piece).

I just wanted to update everybody on this topic. I ended up purchasing several CW Premier Holder along with Intercept Shield 2-row Slab Storage boxes. I am very pleased with the holders themselves. also the slab storage boxes take up less space in my safe then all the binders would have.
