Today's Haul From The Annual Bay State Coin Show

This year I decided to go for quality over quantity and, as a result, I only picked up three coins. I did bring some junk silver to trade in order to potentially get some more coins, but nobody was offering great prices and I figured I'd hold onto my silver for another day.

Anyway, first up is a very rare 1899-CC Morgan dollar that is prohibitively expensive in higher grades, but just within my budget at the grade I found:




Next up is a coin I've been searching for for a long time in order to expend my U.S. type album a bit, a 1795 Flowing Hair Half Dime:




[I'm told, btw, that what appear to be scratches are actually "adjustment marks," since these early coins were made by hand and they often needed to remove a little metal at the end in order for the coin to not be overweight. The grading company didn't mention anything about scratches or damage, so I guess that's true.]

And finally, the highlight of the show for me, a really nice and very rare (in terms of known survivors, at least) 1877 Indian Head cent:




And sorry, Jbuck, but I couldn't find a 1972 Eisenhower Type 2 Reverse in any grade, let alone a really high grade. Maybe next year...
