Please take a look and see if I've found a unicorn. I've been looking at this coin for a month off and on. One time I think yes, next time it's no you're not that lucky. I'm braced for a bad out come on your comments. I know the pics are lost but, of its the real deal of welcome your best shot at a grade.

That's a normal 1989 reverse. Notice how close the FG is to the memorial building, and how far out the G is? It was probably just a polished Die. Keep looking!

You looking at surface staining. The way to tell if it is from the die is this: It will be raised. The fields are always a fairly flat surface. That is the outside part of the die. The devices are incuse down deeper on the die. So if a coin gets stained, it not the mint fault, it is a usage issue. The coin makes coins to use for transactions. We are the one who are looking at them to see what is there. The longer we look at something, the brain convinces you something is there.
