That's called Die Deterioration Doubling, caused by a worn die issue. It's not a Doubled Die. http://www.error-ref.com/die-deteri...on-doubling/

This is what to look for on the motto area starting with the strongest doubled dies first:
Doubled-Die-Or-Die-Deterioration
Doubled-Die-Or-Die-Deterioration
Doubled-Die-Or-Die-Deterioration
Doubled-Die-Or-Die-Deterioration
Doubled-Die-Or-Die-Deterioration
Doubled-Die-Or-Die-Deterioration
Doubled-Die-Or-Die-Deterioration
Doubled-Die-Or-Die-Deterioration
But note on these. This doubling is on the die The hubbing was incorrect. It kind of reminds you of using a rubber stamp and trying to make the devices exactly on top of each other. 90% of the time you don't make it happen. So you see a doubled stamp set of devices on the paper from using the stamp twice. This happened to the dies that created these doubled dies. As I mentioned the doubling is on the die, so every coin struck with that die will have the same doubled images. So when looking for these, don't look at the edges of the devices as all you will find there are die wear and Machine Doubling. What caught your eyes on the above images. Not the edges of the devices, but the center of the devices. Where the spread happens. On Machine Doubling there is no spread, but a reduction of the normal device making even smaller than normal. But when you look at the edge of the devices, you'll pull you off the road until you stop looking there. Hope this helps.
