My final comments... I enjoyed seeing some incredible old copper posted on this thread. Whether the coins were high quality or beat up and ugly - they are all beautiful to me Thanks to all who participated and a special thank you to CoinFrog who contributed so many informed comments and questions and was the cheer leader who kept the dialog moving.

I too have thoroughly enjoyed this thread and seeing everybody's coins. My collection and interest focuses primarily on 1793-1814, so I have not posted much after 1816. But, I do have a few so here is my 1857 LD:

Here's my 1857. Pictures not very good, it's overcast today and can't get a good shot, and LED camera lights won't shut off in low light.

Sad to see this thread wind up, but now we have a good sampling of a lot of varieties and grades.
So, who is going to start the Colonial Copper only thread?

We really ended the 1857's with a bang. No doubt many were saved at the time because they stopped making them. Can we open it up tomorrow to post the ones we forgot to post? :D
