They are called love tokens and are collectable to some people (but not to others). If you use the search terms LOVE TOKEN in the search box in the upper left corner of this website, you will see many other examples. Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 05/01/2019 11:35 pm Love token on a Seated quarter. In the late 19th century it was a major fad to create "love tokens". A coin would have one side planed off and then a persons initials or other scenes would be engraved in a fancy script. The token would then be given to the object of your affection. Since each of these were individually done, and by various people, quality of engraving can vary considerably. Report this Post to the Staff
