Nice little fish scale five cent coin, it does have a little lustre remaining in the devises and hair of the Queen.
Opinions on the grade please? TIA

Cheers, Bill

I'll say EF-45.

I think on a technical grade EF-45, but on eye-appeal AU-50.
Rest in Peace

Nice fish scale, and a really pesky date in higher grades! It's a bit of a soft strike, most noticeable on the obverse denticles and hair in front of the top knot and on the crown details on the reverse.

Factoring in the strike, I see the grade as AU-50 details. Sadly, I think the heavy knock the obverse rim took at 1 and 2 o'clock and the multiple dings reverse rim took at 12:30, 2, 3, 9, and 10 o'clock detail the coin. There is still good eye appeal, and I could easily see this one trading hands at an EF-40 (or possibly better) price.
