Lincoln Cent 1983 D Repunched Mint Mark / RPM ?

JOE Valued Member United States 164 Posts	Posted 09/19/2008 6:25 pm Hi, I found another curious coin that has excited more then any other I've stumbled on. I was curious if this coin was a Re-punched mint-mark, Or just strike doubled. I noticed doubling at the bottom-right of the coin, But there also appears to be a small amount of doubling at the top of the D. Though I'm not really sure. I took a photo of the Mint-mark and year, And also of the whole obverse and reverse of the coin in case I missed anything. With age it starts to deteriorate. First it rises, then falls because the zinc under it disentigrates and eventually they even fall off. Report this Post to the Staff

Corrosive zinc. What ever ya do don't let yer kids get a hold of one to put in there mouth. I don't know whats worse our cents or china's lead toys.
