Archraz Pillar of the Community United States 3499 Posts	Posted 10/05/2008 8:47 pm Often the telltale signs are just having an "unhealthy" or "unnatural whiteness" for the grade. Being just too clean and dull looking is a dead giveaway. This is just one of those things that you have to really see to get a feel for. Report this Post to the Staff

bmanofnbc Pillar of the Community United States 1424 Posts	Posted 10/05/2008 9:47 pm If the coin looks too clean for the grade or has buff marks I will pass on it. If the cleaning is so subtle to the point I need a microscope to see it then I don't care. I will add the coin to my collection in a heartbeat. Report this Post to the Staff

flyagi Valued Member United States 60 Posts	Posted 10/06/2008 12:05 pm Thanks for the input so far. I'm posting a Morgan that I had just to get a idea of cleaning or not (as I am fairly new to this). It has some shadowing around the raised areas (letters / numbers...etc) Would this be from cleaning or just natural condition for a circulated coin?
