New to coin collecting. Planchet has been cut about 50 percent through planchet and then recut. Wandering if anyone else has found this on any other coins?

@Shillingm, first welcome to CCF. Second, can you please clarify whether or not this coin has a saw cut partway through edgewise or whether the cladding has separated on its own? It looks more like a saw cut from your pic, but I'm not sure.

It looks like maybe the planchet was separating prior to the strike. It's interesting in any case.

Yes, looks like a separating clad layer. Legitimate error.
