I'm hearing that the virus can't live on copper for very long but personally I'm done with new CRH for the foreseeable future. Hope everyone has a little stockpile of coins to go through and food and supplies to last this out. I'm a hvac worker in Illinois so I can keep working but I'm afraid a lot of people are going to be hurting in the next couple months. Good luck everyone and stay safe.

I'm staying away from the banks and shops until this is all over. Sadly, I don't really have much of a stash to hunt. I wish the best to you.

About CRH right now . Even if there were no possible contamination of the Corona virus on those coins they are still dirty and loaded with all kinds of germs from everyone and their Grandmother handling them . Go right ahead , pick up that Wheat cent you just found in that roll ,Killer virus , or not ? Do you feel lucky ? well do you Punk .

In this mess , CRH ....socially unacceptable . Most branches are either lesser hours , closed or drive through only anyways.

You all do know that CRHing has "always' been a bit dirty. Over the last 10-20 years of searching, how many of you got sick from looking through coins? John1

The only time I wear gloves for coins was when I CRH. Rolled coins can be nasty!

I ran into a huge problem today. I went to take a case of quarters to my 'dump' bank today and found the doors locked; drive thru only! I wish I would have known this ahead of time. If so, I would have never bought the case two weeks ago. I need to get at least $400 of it back in my one account or my house payment on the first of April won't happen. I DID call my ex-boss today (retail) and I was told they'd take the coins but I'd have to roll them all first. So, I went shopping and bought three bags of empty coin rolls from the local dollar store (cost me $3.18) and now have to roll them all up. If I ever get another case of coins to go through, I'm going to open them all nicely so I can re-use the wrappers (this last time I just tore them all open).

My local bank closed their lobby and is only doing drive-through or appointments. I suspect they wouldn't be too pleased about setting up an appointment just so an individual could cash in their loose change. So, until further notice ..... no more CRH. I do have a couple rolls of cents rolling around the floor of my car if I start to go through withdrawal.

I have accounts at several banks and received an email from each that the lobbies are open by appointment only. CRH is done for a while.

I am still doing it. My banks haven't closed yet. I wear gloves during CRH, so I am not too worried about it. I also wash my hands a lot too.

I don't think that the coins themselves are an issue. The problem is you have to go out in public to get them, plus the paper wrappers themselves are almost certainly more dangerous.
The coins will wait. Try looking through your hoards at home for varieties.

Errers, that is a very risky attitude.
The estimate is 10 times the number of actual cases vs. confirmed, and up to 14 days without showing signs. By going into public and into contact with people and objects unnecessarily, you are exposing yourself and others to possible infection.
If you don't know you're carrying it, and you interact with 10 people who don't know they now have it, who then meet with 10 people...you see how this goes.
Italy's seeing a spike in deaths because they simply do not have the hospital space to care for people. They would otherwise be alive, if not for a shortage of care and equipment.
I would suspend CRHing for the forseeable future. Even if the bank is open, I wouldn't risk it.

My bank now has lobby hours only by appointment,I am not going to bother them with my hobby needs for awhile. I have three boxes waiting to be turned in and 3/4 of a box to look through. I am waiting every two or three days to look through 5 rolls at a time now John1

Self-regulation is so difficult. Best wishes to all you coin roll hunters! Maybe I'll look for some varieties to now that were all stuck inside...
