What affects coin strike: 1. A fresh new die will create a better looking coin than an old worn out die: 2. Circulation damage can damage a coin. It will always be damage. To a new collector it looks like something different. But to a seasoned collector it is undesirable. 3.Machine doubling can alter a coin in a very bad way. Lets say you found a coin with Machine Doubling and being a classic doubled die: Note the different colored letters. 4. Coins stored correctly can alter the coins survival. Letf out in the elements alter the color and eye appeal of a coin. Proper storage will keep a coin, or turn it into a spender quickly.
Just a few examples of what can affect a coin. Keep them safe, they will probably last longer than all of us.
