My coin buddy and I were just on Skype and tried to show some new purchases, the images did not really come into focus and they were very reflective. Does anyone have experience with coins on Skype or have any ideas? My webcam is inexpensive but 1080i. Thanks

It's not Skype, it's your webcam. Many of them don't focus well for closeups. Especially if you are hand-holding and using autofocus - it doesn't have enough time to lock in before you shake it again.

Try resting the camera on something and placing the coin on a rest too...
