My copy of Greg McDonald's "Australian Coins and Banknotes" just arrived in the mail from Bigfella in Australia.

What a great book!

I wish I wasn't busy working today as I would spend hours looking through it. Gues I'll have to wait until tomorrow to really get into it.

I would certainly recommend it to anybody interested in Australian coins.

KLD, Wish I could!

I really envy the collectors who have no problem with buying whatever they want. For the most part I have to settle for just looking. But what I am able to buy, I really enjoy.

Yes, I feel much better about collecting Aussie coins now that my wife purchased the guide for our household. Now if I could just get her to put the darn thing down for a few hours!!!

I subscribe to the Greg Macdonald numismatic site mailing list. Does anyone else here?
You can join and you receive mailing blogs every two months or so on general coin/note issues as well as receiving notes/coins on approval. You can also sell your collection through his subscription service, (for a small fee of course).
For about $165 p.a you get an autographed copy of the current edition book, an autographed paperback copy, unlimited email and/or phone support plus you're on the list to receive the 'big books' Greg is currently finalising.

No, I donot subscribe to Greg's "support service" ....as for the big books, he has been working on it for a few years now. He still has not made any announcement when it will be published.

True - I've been meaning to cancel my subscription to the service. It's only been through laziness I suppose.......
