I was going through my 1872 25 cents and noticed the middle A in Canada is noticeably smaller then the other 2 in Canada. Is this a known variety in the 1872 25 cents?

I just checked 6 and all appear to have the shorter A. Must have been on the master die, or the other ones have been repunched and look a little taller.

I think it's an optical illusion.

I know the one I have is definitely not an optical illusion. The one coin the middle A is noticably smaller then the other 2 in Canada.

Could just be the other two are slightly higher (illusion as kbbpll said). I'll try to get a good photo so someone can measure.
