What is this coin struck thru? Grease and debris. Some kind of metal dust? The discoloration is copper looking. Thank you

Here's the obverse image downloaded from NGC. It look like grease and debris across the face of the coin to me.

That pictures doesn't really help. Probably grease.

Don't know why someone would even spend the money to have that slabbed.

Looks like a layer of grease with a little grit. Not a big deal though. Look for something more interesting in the future.

Thank you for the feedback. I took the coin to two shops and they weren't able to tell me what it was. As regards the fees for slabbing it, I don't care. I wanted to know what it was. For me, it is part of the learning process.

@USSID18. I'm still new to this, but I'm going to have to agree with you based on what I've seen. I had one guy say it looked like rust and PMD. Ive been stunned by some of the things I've seen/heard.
