I recently purchased a heck of a toner 1894 8 Reals, NGC AU details due to an itty bitty chopmark. I'm hoping someone here can identify the mark's country of origin (guessing China), what the mark says/translates to, and if there is a Unicode number for the character.

I no longer have my DSLR (yay jerk thieves), so this is the best I can get with my phone: Help-Identifying-A-Chopmark-On-An-1894mo-Am-Mexican-8R

Full frontal toner: Help-Identifying-A-Chopmark-On-An-1894mo-Am-Mexican-8R
(other side is far less interesting).

It doesn't look like a chop in your closeup. I'm guessing a planchet flaw, perhaps delamination.

I agree, plachette flaw. I would leave it in the holder for now but imo, whatever NGC put on it is null and void.

This is not a details coin as far as I can see.
