Got this today, it has a really nice spread I think. It is my first KHD DDO. I think it might be a WDDO-001, is that correct? I would appreciate your expertise and opinions, thank you.

A friend asked me to look through a box of old coins for him to see what I thought. When I found this and got excited about it, he told me to keep it. He's a very nice guy!

There was an issue on these that year:
http://doubleddie.com/1598998.html

Quote:
Since WMDO-001 is only on P-Mint proof coins, there are no D-Mint examples of WMDO-001 and the D-Mint listings begin with WMDO-002.
1964-D 50¢ WMDO-002 Doubled Master Die
1964-D 50¢ WWHO-001 Doubled Working Hub
1964-D 50¢ WWHO-002 Doubled Working Hub
1964-D 50¢ WDDO-001 "Best Of" Variety"
Description: A very strong CCW spread from a pivot at about 12:00 shows on LIBERTY, IGWT, the date, the designer's initials, the rear point of the bust, and the hair.
Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Very light weak die scratch ESE from the lower right side of the G in GOD. Obverse Stage B: Inverted V-shaped die scratch from the rim between the 6 and 4 of the date. SW die scratches from the first T in TRUST to the 6 in the date. Light NW/SE die scratches through the vertical bar of the T in LIBERTY. Two slightly wavy die scratches west from the left upper side of the T in LIBERTY with the upper scratch turning NW to the rim. Light N/S die scratches inside the ear. Die scratches SW left of the I in LIBERTY. Stage A die scratches abraded away. Obverse Stage C: Die scratches at the I and T of LIBERTY still present other stage B die scratches abraded away. NNE/SSW die scratch between the U and S of TRUST. Reverse Stage A: Flanged G in FG. Die scratch NW from left center of the A in DOLLAR, through the top of the second L and through the star between the two L's. Reverse Stage B: Many N/S die scratches in the fields. Heavier die scratch from lower center of the second T in STATES, SW to the star. Heavier die scratch S by W from the bottom of the right leg of the A in STATES, through the star and to the ray. Stage A markers abraded away. Reverse Stage C: Less defined N/S die scratches in the field. Die scratches from the A and second T of STATES still present.
Submitted By: Stage A & B: John A. Wexler, Stage C: Michael Dalzell
Cross References: CONECA: 1-O-V, Cherrypickers: FS-50-1964D-101

So if it matches the DDO-001, then read the last line, it is one of the "Doubled Working Hub dies". There were many listings that we pulled that year. Later renumbered the ones with a doubled die, and not listing the doubled working hub dies.
