1980 30 Yuan Silver Piefort Soccer - Coin Community Forum

ok88beat New Member United States 37 Posts	Posted 12/03/2020 12:16 pm Hi all, Had my 1980 30 yuan piefort (soccer) graded at PCGS came back PF68DCAM. There are 2 others at this grade and none finer. Mintage was only 500 in silver. I will be selling eventually but pricing it is difficult, PCGS price guild is 1750, I suspect it may be low and not accurate from doing so comparisons. Just seeing what your thoughts on pricing this out would be. TY in advance. Report this Post to the Staff

sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 12/03/2020 5:22 pm I also have an encapsulated proof ex Mint, and it would also rate PF68DCAM, which I would expect to be the most commonly found grade in encapsulated form. Due to the circumstances in which I found it, I do not consider it to be a highly valuable coin. I picked it up in it's capsule from a dealer's $10 junk box about 10 years ago. I am reasonably certain that my example is not a piedfort, and thus has a considerably higher mintage. What is the weight and thickness of the coin pictured? Report this Post to the Staff
ok88beat New Member United States 37 Posts	Posted 12/03/2020 5:49 pm @sel_69l its 30 grams and I am not sure of the thickness off the top of my head maybe 4 to 5mm. The coin you have is lighter and less thick and were the more common ones issued and are not worth very much. Report this Post to the Staff
